Health is not a condition of matter, but of mind.
—Mary Baker Eddy

Excerpts from Weekly Session of "Messages from the Angels and Ascended Masters" - May 11th, 2010 - Mother Mary speaks on the power of small groups.

Here are some key insights from Mother Mary’s offered during the May 3rd 2010 “Weekly Messages from the Angels and Ascended Masters” group held at my office each Tuesday night starting at 4:00.

We had a smaller group than usual this week with only 3 participants.  This seemed to be used as the basis for her message.  She began by encouraging us to take heart in what we were achieving by coming together as there is tremendous power in the pure intentions of even a small group of people, especially when they are coming from a place of love.

She confirmed that loving intentions when held in unity can literally change the world. She mentioned that smaller groups with unified intentions are often more powerful than larger groups which come together for a similar cause. She said that many times larger groups which come together for a unified cause often have conflicting energies which distract from the unity and lessen the focusing power of the groups intention.

As an example, she talked about how a pro-peace rally may not only attract people who are promoting peace but also attract people who hate war and thus while the original intention may come from a loving space, the power of the movement may be reduced by the lower energies of hate and discord.  She reiterated that the power of just a few, committed people can make a significant difference in the world.

She also referred to how some of the great ancient relics were build in England, Egypt and other sacred sites around the world by smaller groups of people who were in complete harmony with each other, Mother Earth and Spirit. By using the power of thought, sound and intention, they were able to create monumental stone works that stand the test of time and still baffle the experts.

As she wrapped up her message, she encouraged each of us to think of a project that we could do to prove the power of small numbers.

Afterwards, we chatted about the power of sound.  Each of us had different yet powerful experiences working with sound by using mantras or sound healing techniques. We thought it might be fun to start off next week’s session by briefly chanting a mantra.

We also considered options for a small group project.  We discussed the oil platform on the coast of Louisiana, local issues and the war in Iraq but didn’t come to any consensus.  We adjourned a little earlier than usual because I had injured my knee at the gym that morning and wanted to go home and rest it.
